Is the IVA a new procedure?
Not at all! The IVA was first introduced by the government as part of the Insolvency Act of 1986. It was devised as a way to help people who are seriously indebted to their creditors.
The IVA has become slightly more prevalent over recent years, as the level of consumer debt has reached record highs; subsequently causing demand for use of such a tool to increase.
